6x6 oil
Last week we didn't have internet at the studio. Since I've been painting dogs off of the web, I didn't have anything to paint. I also didn't have anything in the studio to set up as a still life. So, here you go. Tools of the trade. I kinda like it!
Contemporary impressionist still life and landscape artist Kelli Miller creates oil paintings of apple paintings, lemon paintings, florals, flowers fruits and vegetables. She has art for sale, wall art canvas art, mountain paintings, landscape paintings of trees.

"Awe Shucks" By Kelli Miller
You see the apple in the cup just gave the little apple a compliment and she is so shy she's trying to hide the fact that she is blushing!
This painting is and 8x8 on gallery wrapped canvas.

"Cheating... a Little" By Kelli Miller
6x6 oil
So... did you know it's easier to paint carnations if you turn the blooms away from you? Lol. That's what I did in this painting. So I'm kinda cheating:)
I haven't blogged or painted for the past two and a half weeks. My father-in-law had open heart surgery. So spent a lot of time at the hospital plus my youngest has been home for the past 2 weeks and my oldest came home for a week. Now I'm back to being an empty nester again. It doesn't get any easier. She even took her cat:(

"Five O'clock" By Kelli Miller
Just got back from vacation. It was cooler in Mexico than it is here in Denver! In Mexico it didn't matter whether it was 5 o'clock or not. We saw people drinking at 9:00 in the morning! We at least waited till 12:01 :)

"Priscilla" Original Still Life Lemon Painting by Colorado Artist Kelli Miller
I paint in an old boarding house. There are 14 artists in the building and we each have our own studio. Literally our own studio apartment. Only about 300 square feet. There are usually five or six artists in the building at one time. When I finish a painting I get so excited that I go around and show it to anyone that is there. Judy is a fellow painter and she is a hoot! When I took this down to show her she exclaimed "Priscilla!" That's how it got it's name!

"Chocolate Cupcake" By Kelli Miller
My sister's birthday was yesterday. So in honor of her I painted a festive little cupcake. This one is an odd size, it's 4x8 in. I had some canvas panel left over and didn't want it to go to waste!

"Turquoise Pumps" Kelli Miller SOLD
This might just be the last of the shoes for now...The clerks are giving me the stink eye every time I return a pair of shoes.
Couldn't post last night. Really bad thunderstorms started at around 8:30 last night and continued till around 3:00am. I have never in my life heard thunder like that! The dogs were freaking out, as well as the cat, basement flooded. Looks like a repeat tonight! Yikes!

"Slice of Summertime" by Kelli Miller
Funny thing, I was painting this "Slice of Summertime" while it was raining and only 66 degrees here in Colorado. That's what I love about living in Colorado...90 degrees one day and 66 the next!

"Oscar Night" By Kelli Miller
6x6 oil
I am having so much fun painting shoes! These are a pair that I wore to a fancy ball a few years ago. believe it our not they were comfortable... for about an hour! These were a real challenge. The shimmery gold was really hard to make. I'm happy with the outcome.
I've got exciting news! I've been asked to join the Original Daily Painters Blog!!! I can't believe it. Check it out at http://dailypainters.com you will be amazed at the talented artist there!

"So Not Returning" By Kelli Miller
So I bought these shoes at Target with the intention of returning them as soon as I had painted them. After the painting was complete I thought hmmm they are kinda cool. All it took was for a fellow artist to tell me to try them on (they just happen to be my size). I am so not returning them!
